Abhay Dev Lucky

Past few weeks, watched two movies which define a definite paradigm shift from pure vanilla flavoured Bollywood stuff.
These movies have a protagonist being played by the same man. He comes from a family having close ties with industry. And I must say I have been no big fan. But after watching the movies, I must say that the man has come of age. Similarities do not end there. Both are Delhi-based, there is no conventional "Hero" and moralities are questionable.
Butt first watch first.
"Oye..."'s brilliance lies in a thief going all 0ut and parting with his own loot with no remorse. Quite surreal, he shows that he is not attached to money which is contrary to popular perception.

"Dev D" shows Indian Heroin venturing in un-tested waters, atleast largely. She steps out and demands what not many leading feminine characters have not asked for. Technical details are nicely sorted out as is film maker's perception of what he wants to say. Major credit goes out to Anurag Kashyap for having a clear vision of what he wants to say. Being a story writer himself, he has a clear vision of how he wishes to narrate the story.

For those who have not seen "Oye Lucky..." and "Dev D", guys n gals, go out and try out new kind of cinema. And watch the space for Abhay D.

Have seen "Oye ..." & I must say, I am still under the awe of the movie.
Abhay is well supported by the script, music, cinematography, Paresh rawal & most importantly, his own younger counterpart.
Yet to watch "Dev D" though.
